What is a Bridal Trial and why do I need one?

I would recommend having a bridal trial to make you feel as confident as you can feel about your bridal trial for the big day!, Its time for you to let your makeup artist know the makeup looks you like and what products you would like and to work out if I can create your desired makeup look you may have found some examples of makeup looks you like and have never tried before, Or you may want a certain look what you have seen before we can try out different looks. You can even bring your own makeup to the trial its a time all about you where I want to make you feel as comfortable and confident as possible!.

How Long is a Bridal Makeup Trial?

Usually a makeup trial lasts around 2-3 hours that is enough time for me to set up my equipment I usually bring a Makeup Chair, Makeup Trolley and sometimes a small table if I need extra room and if there is a Big Wedding Party. We can try out a few looks and I will talk through with you any example pictures you have sent through to me beforehand to make sure we can recreate the look you are wanting to achieve. I will need good lighting/Natural Light is the best!

How to Make The Most of Your Makeup Trial.

The Makeup Trial is the perfect time before the stress of the big day for you and the makeup artist to discuss your needs and to make sure we are creating your desired look and style of makeup I advise all my brides to come to the trial with some examples of makeup looks they like it can be looks you have seen on celebrities to friends. Usually when I do a makeup trial I ask what colour the bridesmaids dresses are when doing the bridesmaid makeup and what the colour scheme is in regards to flowers and having pictures of the wedding dress and any accessories. I will need to know the neckline of the dress to make sure if you want any shimmer or makeup on the chest area that the makeup placement is right so I would advise to wear a low neckline for this. I would also advise to have a clean face as the makeup artist will do skin preparation before your makeup application so we will talk about your skin type and what skincare prep you can do before the big day.

When Should I Book My Trial?

I would advise to book your trial up to a few months before your big day this way it should give us good time to discuss your makeup needs and decide on your makeup look. But some brides are excited and book there trial well in advance which is fine!.

Most Popular Bridal Makeup Looks

The Bridal Makeup looks that I do the most would be the dewy natural look so minimal foundation and more natural false eyelashes or individual lashes which build up more of a natural eyelash look. Nude and pink lip shades are always a favourite and a matte lip to last throughout the day. I tend to do alot of soft pink eye looks with a more natural eyeliner finish which is smudged out slightly on the upper eyelid. The glowy skin look is also a favourite but not shiny I tend to keep it as matte and long lasting as I can.
